Diversity

If the world were black and white, it would lose all beauty. In the fall, the trees would have no allure; they would merely become void of leaves. Paintings wouldn’t represent a person’s feelings or emotions; they would only be lines on paper. Rainbows would not brighten a day full of rain; they’d just be orderly stripes in the sky. However with color, vitality is brought to the world. Diversity is the color to the world.

A Day's Walk Triggers Deep Thoughts

A leaf dropped into my palm hand today, and I thought about its life.
It had grown, it had lived, it had changed, and now it is venturing on its own path.

I looked upon this leaf, the colors were vibrant and distinct.
The beautiful tones had once been hidden, chlorofil masking its true identity. But with the help of season's change, it rid its artificial colors, and it now shows itself proudly, fearing no judgement for looking distinct.

I looked upon this leaf, and i began to see.
That this little bright leaf is me.

The journey I will soon take will be my own, unaffected by those once surrounding me

I released the leaf from my hand, and let it float away. It spiraled spun, and collided with another, until they both fell together to the ground.

It was then that I had a hard time finding it. I realized the path that it took was only temporary, and that in the end, it will end up with the others. Although the colors vary, theyre all united in rest.

A leaf dropped into my palm today, I thought about my life.
I thought of the path that I may take, and I think that God is right.

The Missing Piece

Photobucket
It was missing a piece.
And it was not happy.
So it set off in search
of its missing piece.

The Missing Piece, by Shel Silverstein. A Childhood favorite of mine that has become a deep book of a search for the missing part of himself. He enters a journey that although seemingly external is in fact quite internal and philosophical. He is searching for fufillment. He is searching for self. And so am I. I want to learn who I truly am, and what will fufill my life to its extend of growth. I want to find my missing piece.

remains

Standing in front of the mirror you see
a shadow of your former self.
You look deep and envision the past
bringing you to this tattered state.
Taking off the glamor and smiles
your left with nothing but remains.
And thats all you are.
Just remains of who you were.
